he/him

I was born in Lincolnshire originally but moved to Norwich to attend university and have lived here ever since. I started looking for film and photo freelance work after my degree but have found a recent interest in writing, be it for website copy, arts and culture pieces or my own personal art projects. My other interests include online web artists, bad movies from the 00s and single player narrative video games.

Your ultimate desert island disc track

'Dink’s Song (Fare Thee Well)'. It’s such a simple song in terms of its lyrical structure and chord progression and I love hearing the near 100 years of covers it’s inspired. There’s many I love but if I had to pick one specifically it’d be Dave van Ronk’s cover.

Who would play you in the film of your life?

It’s got to be Ethan Hawke. A man who will give his all to any performance regardless if the film screams prestige or total trash. I like to think the film of my life would be a fine line between the two. If you had to be locked inside one gallery overnight, which would it be and why?

The Philadelphia Museum of Art. An art museum with a huge collection of both historical and modern pieces. It’d be hard not to feel a sense of power walking around the gold limestone halls alongside re-enacting Rocky on the steps outside. What was the last book you didn’t manage to finish? Imperial Bedrooms by Bret Easton-Ellis. Like a lot of teenage boys, after reading American Psycho I thought I was a fan of Ellis’s writing. Reading the same story of apathetic rich kids being awful for another two novels was enough for me. I had 2 chapters left. If you could have written one play/novel/poem/song, what would it be and why? Flashforward by Robert J Sawyer. A top 5 hitting book for me that encompasses everything I love in a sci-fi story: mystery, made up hard science, a high concept and at its core an engaging character drama.
