Callum Anderson
he/him
Hi, I’m Callum! I grew up in the Oxfordshire countryside before moving to Brighton & Hove with my now husband after we met at university in Chichester. I have a background in Contemporary Dance and specialise in choreography for site and screen. Having started work in marketing for Further and Higher Education institutions, I am currently an Arts Marketer for Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival. Alongside this, I’m an Independent Dance Artist/Researcher and have previously been both a supported artist and commissioned artist of the Sussex Dance Network, as well as having papers published in academic journals. If you need me, you will most likely find me in a bookshop.
What was the last book you didn’t manage to finish?
Alan Trotter’s Muscle. It arrived in a box of books I wasn’t expecting (long story) and although I’m a fan of a bit of noir, the main character doesn’t have a name, just _____. More distracting than anything. 20 pages was enough for me before I gave up.Â
If you could live inside a painting or sculpture what would it be?
If it’s work I’ve seen…Sunil Gupta’s photo series Christopher Street (1976) - I’d love to be able to interview the people he photographed. If it’s work I’ve yet to see…Andy Warhol’s Silver Clouds (1966). I think it would be peaceful.
What’s your ultimate desert island disk song?
‘Time Warp’ from The Rocky Horror Show
What’s a poem that you can recite on demand?
On the Ning Nang Nong by Spike Milligan. I must have learnt it about 20 years ago. It stuck.
