Sophie Noxon.

she/her

Hi, I’m Sophie! When I was little, I used to pretend to write before I could actually read so it’s no wonder I ended up studying American Literature with Creative Writing at UEA, where I also did a year abroad in Canada and made it my entire personality for a while. I then went on to do a Master’s in Creative Writing at Royal Holloway, where I began to focus (more seriously, at least) on developing my first book: a novel inspired by the ghost stories and urban legends of North America. Your ultimate desert island disc track?

It would have to be 'September' by Earth, Wind & Fire – it’s like an instant serotonin boost whenever I hear it and if I was stranded on a desert island, I would probably need all of the serotonin I could get. The downside is it would probably take me forever to build a shelter because I would be too busy dancing.

Who would play you in the film of your life?

Jack Black. I really think he would be able to pull it off. He has the range and if Jumanji taught me anything, it’s that he would bring everything he has to the role.

What’s a poem you can recite on demand?

'Raven’s Advice To Humans' by Lorna Crozier (mainly because it’s very short!)
