Tom Scudamore.

he/him

Hi, I’m Tom. I grew up in Milton Keynes and read English at UEA. While in Norwich, my time split between playing improv games, cracking sketches and penning short humour, all of which I still do. After that I studied Applied Theatre at Central, in London. They had me spend time with the best young people in Haringey and Harrow, before sending me to support kids’ creativity in the middle of nowhere, Australia! Since then, I’ve continued that kinda work via tutoring and drama coaching while, when not, just enjoying experiencing and making new stories, all out of the crazy that’s happening to us. Narratives arrive in all forms. We have new ones every day we wake up.

Who would play you in the play of your life?

Andrew Garfield, that guy can act.

What was the last book you didn’t manage to finish?

F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Beautiful and Damned, dammit. I finished it a first time at college, promise, but this repeat sesh just didn’t jive with me. Maybe it was the wrong time. Usually broken couple stories grab my attention. What happened here?

Have you ever heard a song that feels like it HAD to be written about you? What was it and why?

Can I say Childish Gambino’s 'Saturday'? It’s unreleased but when Glover sang it on Saturday Night Live four years back, it just connected with me. Dude was dropping the groove at a block party—that’s my idea of a weekend!

If you could live inside one painting or sculpture, what would it be?

Hear me out: Ivan Aivazovsky’s 'The Ninth Wave.'
